One of the most important sectors being transformed by AI is the field of Electrical Engineering, especially modern power systems.
Traditional electrical grids were designed mainly for one-way power flow — electricity moved from power plants to consumers. However, with increasing electricity demand, renewable energy integration, and smart devices, the conventional grid system is no longer sufficient. This is where AI-powered smart grids are playing a major role.
AI helps power systems become more intelligent, efficient, reliable, and automated. Using machine learning algorithms and real-time sensors, electrical utilities can now predict electricity demand, detect faults automatically, and reduce power losses. Smart meters and IoT-based devices continuously collect data, allowing engineers to monitor the grid more effectively.
